Joseph John "Junior" Blanchard, 75, a native of Bourg and resident of Houma, 
died Wednesday, June 18, 2014. 

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday, July 1, at Grace 
Lutheran Church in Houma. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 
at the church. 

He is survived by his wife, Hildegard Blanchard; sons, Joseph "Joey" Blanchard 
and Steven Dettmer; daughters, Julie Ann Blanchard, Jayne Blanchard, Sharon 
Blanchard, and Sandra Deroche; brothers, Morris and Charles Blanchard; sisters, 
Loretta Pellegrin and Catherine Ordoyne; 14 Grandchildren; and two great-
grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Blanchard; mother, Girtrude 
Detiveaux Blanchard; brother, Acklen "T-Neg" Blanchard; and sister, Rita Mae 
Battaglia. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to: St. 
Matthew's Episcopal Church, 243 Barrow Street, Houma, LA 70360.
