Ronnie J. Duplantis, 76, a native and resident of Houma, died Thursday, June 
26, 2014. 

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at St. Joseph 
Catholic Church in Chauvin. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. 
Saturday at the church, 

with burial in St. Elie Cemetery in Chauvin. 

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy Stringer Duplantis; children, 
Rhonda Baxter, Susan Duplantis, and Bryan Duplantis; sister, Jeanne Martin; and 
grandchildren, Matthew Baxter, Jacob Baxter, Kyle Baxter, Jacob Duplantis, and 
Claire Saia. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Xavier and Cornelia Duplantis; son, 
David Duplantis; son-in-law, Richard Baxter; and sister, Jessie Blanchard. 

He loved to fish, work on cars, and ride his four-wheeler. He also loved 
farming and taking care of his cattle. 

Samart Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
