Edward J. Ellender Jr., 77, a native of Bourg and resident of Houma, died 
Friday, June 6, 2014.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at Christian Assembly in 
Schriever. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church 

with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gray.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby B. Ellender; children, Tammy Henry, Edward 
Ellender III, Mary Achee' and husband, Daniel Sr., and Chris Ellender; sisters, 
Helen Pitre, Dorothy Prosperie, Darlene Bergeron; brother, Clark Ellender, and 
eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father, Edward Ellender Sr.; mother, Madeline 
Hucthinson Ellender; brothers, Judson and Whitney Ellender; and sister, Adeline 
Cunningham.
