Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2014/f1406.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Martin Foret, 90, a native of Raceland and resident of Thibodaux, was born Nov. 11, 1923, and passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at St. Joseph Co- Cathedral in Thibodaux. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in St. Joseph Co-Cathedral cemetery in Thibodaux. He is survived by his son, Dr. Robert J. Foret (Lynell); daughters, Peggy F. Zeringue (Bruce), Ellen F. Morvant (Larry), and Carol F. Boudreaux (Terry); granchildren, Robert J. Foret Jr. (Lucy), Martin E. Foret (Zamina), Dr. Shane Zeringue (Deanna), Kerry Zeringue (Dottie), Judy Rasid (Allie Jr.), Paul Morvant (Gena), Kristen Boudreaux (Brent), Robin Powell (Willie), and Amy Boudreaux; great-grandchildren, Kathy, Geoffrey, Rose, Joseph, Ethan, Kaden, Macy, Alexis, Gracie, Ty, Lily, and Hudson; great-great-granddaughter, Jazzlyn; and sister, Idola Dufour. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Doris B. Foret; parents, Eugene and Eleanore B. Foret; brothers, Tilman, David, and Paul Foret; and sisters, Una Foret, Rita Champagne, and Lydia Sciambra. He was a retired veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army-Airforce in California. He retired after 32 years with the U.S. Postal Service as a supervisor and was a member of N.A.L.C. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and American Legion Post No. 11. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Co-Cathedral. The family would like to especially thank the staff at the Broadway Elder Living Home for the great care and friendship he received and St. Catherine's Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to St. Genevieve Catholic School, St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic School and St. Joseph Catholic School.
