She was surrounded by family members at her home. She was born Donna Mae Francis in Saulk Centre, Minnesota, Donna was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas and New Iberia, Louisiana but made Houma, Louisiana her home for the past 49 years. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 9:00am to 11:00am at First United Methodist Church. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 11:00am at First United Methodist Church. Burial: St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. She is survived by the love of her life, Lyster "Jack" Gafford. They were married on May 16, 1953 and had just celebrated 61 years of marriage. She is also survived by one sister, Carol Keeter and husband Aden, three children; Jack Gafford and wife Robin, Janis Treuting and husband Tommy, and Julie Maureaux and husband Joe; 8 grandchildren, Jason Gafford and wife Jessica, Katie Gafford Douglas, Jonathan Gafford and wife Niki, Todd Mondello and wife Trisha, Dana Garrett and husband Grant, Melanie Bueche and husband Jeff, Paul Treuting and wife Becky and Matthew Treuting; and 10 Great grandchildren. Donna was preceded in death by her parents Nelson Francis and Arvilla Lende Francis, sister Elaine Kessler, and Brother Duane Francis. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Donna graduated from New Iberia Senior High School in 1951. Donna loved her family, friends, neighbors and church family. She was an avid Facebooker and loved receiving e-mails from her some 100 cousins. Donna and Jack enjoyed many vacations, but among her favorites were the annual trips to Pigeon Forge in the Smokey Mountains, North Dakota family reunions, and Jack's school reunion trips to Piedmont, Kansas. She never forgot a name, a birthday or an anniversary. She was known as "Granny" by many more than her immediate family. She was loved by all who met her.
