Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jimmie M. Guidry Jr. and wife, Marcie Guidry; granddaughter and wife, Beth Guidry and Jenifer Kreller Guidry; twin great-granddaughters, Allie and Avery; sister, Vivian Cancienne; and sister-in-law, Hilda Pontif. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Jimmie M. Guidry Sr.; parents, Juliette Bourg Pontif and Oliver Joseph Pontif Sr.; sisters, Hazel Chartier and husband, Oliver Charles Chartier, and Agnes Vice; brothers, Oliver Joseph Pontif Jr., John Pontif and wife, Faye Rinni Pontif, Robert Pontif and wife, Jackie Ricks Pontif, Ned Pontif and wife, Angelle Somme Pontif, and George Pontif; and brother-in-law, Phillip Cancienne. Alice was well-known in the community and business realm in the Houma area. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Houma Auto Parts from 1943 to 1952. She was later employed as a bookkeeper and corporate secretary for Houma Oil Company for 33 years, 1954 to 1987, where she was frequently referred to by her nickname, "Ace". Alice was elected "Woman of the Year" in 1962. She served as the first chairman of Vandebilt Catholic High School's Annual Fair. Monies earned for that endeavor served to purchase new band uniforms for Vandebilt's Terrier Regiment. In other community work, Mrs. Guidry worked with the American Heart Association and annual Leukemia Society Drive. She was also a member of the Anawim Community and Catholic Daughters. Alice served as a Eucharistic minister at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral visiting TGMC patients and home- bound residents for many years. Alice was a gentle soul who will be lovingly missed, but we know another star is now shining in heaven ======================
