"Dick" Myers, D.C., 85, of Fayetteville, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 5, 2014. Born July 22, 1928, in Orrstown, Pa., he was a son of the late Aaron H. and Laura Edith Bender Myers. He was a 1946 graduate of Shippensburg High School and served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He then went on to graduate in 1958 from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. A chiropractor for 38 years in Pennsylvania and Louisiana, Dr. Myers retired in 1996. An avid reader, he liked history and current politics. He enjoyed baseball, having played while serving in the Navy and with the local team in Roxbury, Pa., prior to and following his military service. He also enjoyed golf and was able to attend the 2014 Master's Tournament this past April. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Monn-Myers, whom he married Oct. 5, 2001; four children, Richard D. Myers, D.C., (wife, Cindy), of Waynesboro, Pa.; Laura Conrad (husband, Rick), of Camp Hill, Pa.; Mike Myers (wife, Lynn), of Houma; and Tena Manning (husband, Randy), of Houma; 10 grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Dorine Devore, of Va., and Jean Wilson, of Chambersburg, Pa.; a brother, J. Fred Myers, D.C., of Chambersburg, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Nina Jean Mooring Myers in 1988, and a brother, Barry Myers in 2010. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, Pa. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday in the church chapel, with Rev. Paul B. Baker officiating. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 12, in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gray. U.S. Navy ======================
