Sam Alman Chapman, 80, a native of Gilbertown, Alabama, and resident of 
Thibodaux, passed away Monday, July 21, 2014, peacefully at his home surrounded 
by his family. 

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until funeral time 
Thursday at Thibodaux Funeral Home in Thibodaux. Funeral services will be at 11 
a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 

with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. 

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen Morgan Chapman; sons, James Alan 
and wife, Synthia, and Johnny; daughter, Deborah Chiasson; grandchildren, 
Jessie Chapman, Selena Lipps, Jeremy Chapman, Kevyn Chapman, Amy Chiasson, 
Johnny Chapman Jr., and Thomas Chapman; and seven great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Cora Chapman; five 
brothers; three sisters; son, Shelton Chapman; infant daughter, Sherry Kaye; 
mother-in-law, Maggie Morgan; brother-in-law, J.C. Morgan; and son-in-law, 
Capt. Keith P. Chiasson. 

The family would like to extend special thanks to Divinity Home and Health, 
Thibodaux Regional Medical Center and staff, and St. Joseph Hospice. 

Thibodaux Funeral Home in Thibodaux is in charge of arrangements.
