Emelda Rousse Chouest, 83, a native and resident of Galliano, passed away 
Wednesday, July 23, 2014. 

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at St. Joseph's 
Catholic Church in Galliano. A Mass of Christian burial will be at noon 
Saturday at the church, 

with burial in St. Joseph's Catholic Church cemetery in Galliano. 

She is survived by her children, Van Kurt Chouest and wife, Lola, Susan Griffis 
and husband, Ed, Patricia C. Collins and husband, Teddy, Nina Plaisance and 
husband, Raymond, Tina Charpentier and husband, T-Boy, Debbie Boffanie and 
husband, Karl, and Joe Chouest; grandchildren, Jason Chouest, Garon Chouest, 
Marla Guidry, Carrie Chargois, Jennifer Trimino, T.J. Collins, Tricia Collins, 
Shawn Plaisance, Ali Plaisance, Magen Dufrene, Brandon Boffanie, and Madison 
Chouest; greatÐgrandchildren, Bryson, Parker, Katelyn, and William Chouest, 
Cade and Tyler Guidry, Lily and Sophie Chargois, Rosie Griffis-Trimino, and 
Sonny Charpentier; and brothers, Norman and Glenn Ray Rousse. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Webb Chouest Sr.; parents, 
Maurice "Black" Rousse and Eugenie C. Rousse; grandchild, Leon Charpentier; and 
brother, Welton Rousse. 

Emelda was a member of the Ladies Altar Society at St. Joseph. She enjoyed 
being with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and 
friends. 

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.
