DOUCET SR., DENNIS "BIG RED"   
 
Dennis J. "Big Red" Doucet Sr., 64, a native of Galliano and resident of Golden 
Meadow, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014. 

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Thursday at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Raceland 
and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Friday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic 
Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, 

with burial in Cheramie Cemetery. 

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lauri A. Doucet; mother, Willie Mae 
Cheramie Melancon; son, Dennis J. Doucet Jr.; daughter, Casey Doucet Lachmann; 
sisters, Robin Melancon Callais, Margie Melancon, and Shelley Doucet; and one 
grandchild. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence T. Doucet; and stepfather, 
Stanley Melancon. 

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
