Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at Jones Funeral Home in Franklin. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with burial in Nazarene Cemetery in Verdunville. He is survived by his wife, Rosa Lee Austin Hawkins, of Verdunville; sons, Leroy (Geraldine) Hawkins Jr., of Four Corners, John H. (Lucinda) Parker and Lynnis Parker, of Patterson, and Eric Kirt, of Jeanerette; daughters, Veronica Hawkins (Herman) Jones, of Morgan City, Kathleen Hawkins, of Centerville, Sheryl Hawkins (Kenneth) Washington, of Franklin, Stephanie (James) Joseph, of Patterson, Eliecia Adams, of Euless, Texas, and Stephanie Evans, of Florida; sisters, Sylvia (Dot) Jenkins, of Centerville, Elizabeth (Wilfred) Richardson, of New Orleans, and First Lady Donna (Elder Donald) Lancelin, of Baldwin; 29 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Hawkins and Elizabeth Payne Hawkins; sisters, Clara Hunt, Lou Ethel Hawkins, Essie Hawkins, and Catherine Griffin; brothers, James and Louis Hawkins Jr; and daughter, Charlotte Hawkins.
