Visitation will be Wednesday, July 30, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Samart Funeral Home of Houma. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2014at 12:00 PM at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, Houma, LA. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Houma,LA. He is survived by his: Loving Wife of 59 years - Virginia Martin 3 Sons: David J. Martin Jr. & companion Melody Toups Dane J. Martin Darrin J. Martin & wife Tracy 2 Daughters: Debra J. Martin Boudreaux Darlene J. Martin Eschete & husband Lonnie Brother: Michael Martin Step Brother: Allan Benoit 4 Sisters: Elaine Martin, Alma M. LeBouef, Sherry Martin, Rosabelle M. Prosperie Grandchildren: Michelle Belanger, David J. Martin III, Roxanne Robichaux, Scott Robichaux, Jennifer Eschete, Denise Dean, Jacob Martin, Jaden J. Martin 6 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his: Parents: Eustache Martin & Alice Roddy Martin Stepmother: Cecile Benoit Martin 3 Brothers: Russell, Percy Sr. and Ronnie "Boy Boy" Martin\ 3 Sisters: Yvonne M. Duet, Jane M. Ellender & June Martin He was a Merchant Marine & boat captain on offshore vessel at Cenac Towing, LeBouef Towing & Cheramie Brothers. He was also the ownder of Martin Inland Towing Co. and a past member of East Houma Lions Club He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing & woodworking. He was creative and like photography & electronics, but most of all loved his family. The family would like to thank Drs. Scott & Dickie Haydel, Dr. Feinberg, Dr. Russell Henry at AMG, Bayou Home Care, & the care he received at Ochsner Foundation Hospital. ======================
