Elvie Watson McGuire, 81, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Gibson, 
died Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 8:00 a.m.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at Jones Funeral Home of Houma and 
from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at the church. The funeral will be at 11:00 
a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Beulah Baptist Church of Gibson. 

Burial will follow in Beulah Baptist Church cemetery of Gibson.

She is survived by: one son, Clyde J. McGuire of Gibson; four daughters, Sheila 
A. Martin of Gibson, Kathleen (Robert) Diggs, Sharleen and Darlene McGuire all 
of Houma; one brother, Royal Watson; twelve grandchildren and seven great-
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her husbands; Richard Martin, Jr. and Claude 
McGuire, Sr.; one son, Bryan McGuire; parents, Charlie, Sr. and Cora Gates-
Watson; sisters, Gladys Brown Sims, Leona Allridge Jackson, and Dorothy Watson 
Thomas; and eight brothers, Ephion Allridge, Isaac Allridge, Sr., Charlie 
Watson, Jr., James Watson, Lloyd Watson, Williams "Will" Watkins, Lester 
Watkins and Lawrence Watkins.
