Dr. Sophia Urszula Rdzanek, 60, a native of Zawady Stare, Jedlinsk, Poland and 
a resident of Thibodaux, Louisiana, died Friday, July 25, 2014.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at 
Thibodaux Funeral Home in Thibodaux, LA. 

Burial will take place at a later date in Maryhill Cemetery in Niles, IL.

She is survived by her husband, James Martin Schweitzer, MD; brothers, Jerzy 
Rdzanek of Skokie, IL, Piotr Rdzanek, Jan Rdzanek, Kazimierz Rdzanek, Jacek 
Rdzanek; sister, Marianna Szczesna; numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by parents, Jozef Rdzanek and Anna Ostatek Rdzanek; 
sister, Elsbieta Rdzanek.

Dr. Rdzanek attended the Academy of Medicine in Lublin, Poland. She completed 
her medical training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at St. LukeÕs Medical 
Center in Kansas City, Missouri. She continued her medical career in Thibodaux, 
Louisiana until her retirement in 2005.
