He was a native of Camuy, Puerto Rico and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 9:00am to 11:00am at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. A Liturgy of the Word will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 11:00am at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. with Burial at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2 He is survived by his, Wife of 54 years: Marie Terrebonne Rivera, Sons: Michael Paul Callais, Glenn Irvin Callais and wife Diane, and Terry Antonio Rivera and wife Dana, Daughter: Bonnie Ann Dubina, Brothers: Pedro Luis Rivera, and Nicodimas Rivera, Sister: Ida Lou Jimanez, Grandchildren: Angelique Naquin, Edmund Jarveaux Jr., Ryan Dubina, Glenn Callais Jr., Michael Antoine Callais, Miranda Rivera, T.J. Rivera, and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his, Parents: Pedro Antonio Rivera and Amelia Quijano Rivera, Granddaughter: Anne Cooper, Brothers: Jose Antonio Rivera, and Fernando A. Rivera, Son-in-Law: Clyde Dubina, Sisters: Maria Christina Nieves, Maria I. Rivera, Carmen M. Quijano, Severina M. Rivera, and Isabela Jimanez. He was a member/parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. He was a 1957 graduate of UL Lafayette. He was the Resident Construction Engineer for Terrebonne Parish and State of Louisiana. He retired after fifty six years of service to the State of Louisiana. He was recently honored by Governor Bobby Jindal for his many years of service. He enjoyed making and playing guitars, restoring antique cars, and celebrating Mardi Gras. He is a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Gamble and staff, Dr. Jules Dupont and staff, and the 3rd floor patient staff at Terrebonne General Medical Center.
