Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday, August 5th at Saint Francis de Sales Cathedral. Mass is to be held at 11:00 a.m. at the church, with burial in Saint Francis de Sales cemetery number two. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne C. Saia; grandsons John Duet, Jack Duet III, and Dino Duet; great-granddaughter Amber Duet; cousin, Mary Griffin; nephew, Gene Griffin; and niece, LaVada Fisher. She was preceded in death by her parents, Culver Griffin and Callie Griffin; husband, John Louis Saia; daughter, Schere Saia Marullo; brothers, Maness Griffin, Coke Griffin, Elmo Griffin, L.B. Griffin, Culver Claude Griffin, and Tenille Griffin; and sisters, Margie Griffin, Birdie Armead Griffin, and Mary Madelyn Griffin. She took great joy in gardening, hunting, painting, and was well traveled, having visited Italy, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, Spain, Guatemala, the Virgin Islands, and Copenhagen in her lifetime. She was gifted with the talent of piano by ear, and an accomplished seamstress, undertaking extensive sewing projects including porcelain doll design, needlepoint, tatting, and embroidery. In her time in Houma she was instrumental in starting the Terrebonne Fine Arts Guild, was President of the Terrebonne Fine Arts Guild, Queen of Hysinthians Carnival Club, Member of the International Doll Making Association, President of the Houma Lou Doll Club, and Member of the Seeley Doll Making Organization. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Saia's name to St Jude's Children's Hospital ======================
