He was a native of Houma, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014 from 9:00 AM until Service time at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. Interment: St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. He is survived by his, Daughters, Loretta Murry, Janice (Paul) Yakupzack and Catherine (Chris) Butler, 3 Grandchildren, Jennifer Ekal, Jason Theriot and Callie Baskett, Great Grandchildren, Haley Theriot, Burak Ekal, Demir Ekal, Evelyn Baskett and Silas Baskett, Brother, Leland Songe and Sisters, Bessie Wallace and Karen Songe, He was preceded in death by his, Wife, Yvonne Brunet Songe, Son in Law, Woody Murry, Parents, Elie W Songe and Gladys Domangue Songe, Brother, Floyd Songe, and Sister, Evelyn Breaux. Harvey served in the US Navy in WWII. He volunteered his services for over 40 years to the St. Vincent de Paul Society serving as president for 25 of those years. He received the Order of St. Louis award in recognition of leadership and dedicated service to the church and community. He was a parishioner of Maria Immacolata Church and was a very devout Catholic. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff and residents at The Homestead Assisted Living for their compassionate care and friendship during his years of residency.
