He was a native of Dulac, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 9:00 AM until Service time at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment: Holy Family Catholic Church Cemetery. He is survived by his, Children, Kevin Thibodeaux, Anita Granier and husband Nolan, Monica Boudreaux and husband Mitch, Grandchildren, Tessy Barlow, Ashley Bourg, Sadie Bourg, Hannah Bourg, Great Grandchildren, Adriana Barlow, Colton Barlow, and Aiden Bourg, Brother, Lloyd Thibodeaux, and Sister, Vera LeBoeuf. He was preceded in death by his, Wife, Marie Louise Rhodes Thibodeaux, Parents, Dennis Thibodeaux, Sr and Marie Pellegrin Thibodeaux, Granddaughter, Consuela Thibodeaux, Sisters, Ethel and Edna Mae Thibodeaux, Evella Pellegrin, Judith Pertuit and Mary Margaret Daffron and Brother, Dennis Thibodeaux, Jr. Merlin was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church but in his later years he attended Annunziata Catholic church. He was a member of the 4th degree Knights of Columbus in Dulac, LA. Merlin was a tugboat captain for Texaco for thirty years. In his younger days Merlin enjoyed duck hunting, rabbit hunting and fishing. He enjoyed gardening and kept a garden for 20 years. He was an excellent cook. Merlin was a loving husband to Marie Rhodes Thibodeaux for 52 years. On their 50th wedding anniversary they renewed their marriage vows to each other. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. The family wishes to thank Dr. Russell Henry and AMG Specialty Hospital for the care of our father ======================
