Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2014/f1408.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Emily Elsie Marie Tauzin Bourgeois, 88, a native and resident of Chackbay, LA, died peacefully on August 17, 2014, at the Thibodaux Regional Medical Center in Thibodaux, LA. A visitation will be held on, Friday, August 22, 2014, from 8:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Chackbay, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 AM with burial to follow Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church cemetery in Chackbay. She is survived by one son, Michael C. Bourgeois and wife, Christine Pierron Bourgeois of Chackbay, LA., grandchildren and family: Benjamin Marcus Bourgeois of Denver, CO., Aimee B. Luna and husband, Patrick, great grandchild, Lana Jolie Luna, of Houston, TX., Alicia Kay Bourgeois of Duson, LA, and Alexis Colette Bourgeois of Lafayette, LA., one sister, Mildred "Te Mae" Griffin of Houma, LA. and a beloved cousin/sister Shirley H. Clement. She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Perry J. L. Bourgeois; father, Willie Michael "Bill" Tauzin, mother, Ida Hymel Tauzin, sisters: Hilda Tauzin Gravois of Vacherie, LA, Helena "Te Yen" Tauzin Oubre of Kenner, LA, and brothers: Ferdinand Tauzin, Wilbert "Boone" Tauzin Sr., Louis "Bobby" Tauzin, and Lloyd Tauzin all of Chackbay, LA. Emily was a member of the ExxonMobil Annuitant Club of LA Bayous, Our Lady Of Prompt Succor Alter Society, AARP, the VFW, American Legion and the Thibodaux Regional Medical Center "Pink Lady" Auxiliaries. She was a retired Cosmetologist and enjoyed caring and nurturing her grandchildren, sewing, crocheting, quilting, cooking, baking and reading. In earlier years, she was a member of the Lafourche Parish Home Demonstration Club where she had the opportunity to teach many young girls how to sew in the Chackbay community. She always had some kind of sweets available for her company and readily brewed a fresh pot of coffee for them. Her special love was always staying in touch and supporting friends and family members during significant events of joy, sadness, and hope with greeting cards engulfed with personal writings and words of encouragement and friendship. In lieu of flowers, mass intentions are preferred or donations can be made in her memory to: Mr. Michael C. Bourgeois, 1131 Highway 20, Thibodaux, LA 70301- 6240, whereby the funds will be directed for celebrated Catholic mass intentions for Emily that will be held at Our Lady of the Prompt Succor Church honoring her "Blessed Lady".
