Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2014/f1409.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Roland Louis Acosta, 81, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Thibodaux, died at 12:31 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at Falgout Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux. He is survived by his close friends, Margaret C. Lee and John S. Lee and family; his canine, Dog; and cousins, Barbara Gros Trosclair, Percy Gros Jr. and Milo Meacham Jr. He was preceded in death by his wife, Walterine Hebert Acosta; parents, Julen and Adeline Gros Acosta; grandparents, Philip and Ella Adams Gros; and his beloved canine, Nina. Roland was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired member of the Houma Police Department. He also worked for the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's office and the City Marshall's office. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and served as chairman of the Civil Service Board. He was a gardener who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was an LSU and Saints fan and an avid gamer who loved playing the lottery and going to casinos. Falgout Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements U.S. Army ======================
