Janet Prejeant Barker, 53, a native of Houma, passed away at her home in 
Geismar surrounded by family Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014. 

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at St. John the 
Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville. A Mass of Christian burial will be 
at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, 
with burial in Oak Lane Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Ben Barker, Jason Gafford, Chad Braud, Justin Barker, Scott 
Barker, and Johnny Wells. 

She is survived by her caring husband of almost 33 years, Samuel P. Barker; 
daughter, Samantha E. Barker; son, Scott Douglas Barker; mother, Marie 
Thibodeaux Prejeant; sisters, Ramona Prejeant Braud (Bert) and Robin Prejeant 
Gafford (Jack); and numerous other family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Prejeant. 

Janet was a devoted wife, dedicated mother, and loving daughter and sister. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to St. Jude 
Children's Research Hospital, 202 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. 

Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales is in charge of arrangements.
