Dortha Long Mitchell, 96, a native and resident of Chackbay, passed away at 
1:15 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014. 

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until funeral time 
Thursday at Thibodaux Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. 
Thursday at the funeral home 

with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gray. 

She is survived by her sons, David Kester, and Jim Mitchell and wife Barbara E. 
Mitchell; grandchildren, Ricky Kester and wife, Diane, Darla Dickson, James 
"Outlaw" Mitchell and companion, Judy Rome, Richard "Slick" Mitchell and wife, 
Barbara, Charles "Porky" Mitchell, Kimberly Mitchell, and Connie Lugo and 
husband, Joe; 10 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne James Mitchell; and 
grandchildren, Timothy Kester, Angela Anderson, and Kaila Benoit. 

Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
