Corinne Melancon Sapia, 97, a native of Raceland and a resident of Lockport, 
passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 4:04 AM.

Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 
Falgout Funeral Home, Lockport, LA and from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Thursday, 
October 2, 2014 at Holy Savior Catholic Church, Lockport, LA. A Mass of 
Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Thursday at Holy Savior 
Catholic Church 

with burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Raceland, LA.

She is survived by two sons, Ralph Sapia and wife Malvina, George "Sap" Sapia, 
Jr. and wife Glenda; one daughter, Cindy Thibodaux and husband Gary; sister, 
Lena Melancon Pierce; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 14 great-
great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Sapia, Sr.; daughter, Barbara 
Sapia Breaux; parents, Johnny Melancon and Hedwidge Theriot Melancon; 5 
brothers, Ivy, Willie, Lovelace, Ronald and Wilmer; 2 sisters, Elma Bonvillain 
and Irene Martin, an infant granddaughter and a great grandson.

She was an active member of V.H. Boudreaux Senior Center in Lockport and the 
Pink Ladies Auxillary at St. Anne Hospital in Raceland.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at The Broadway Elder Living 
Center and St. Catherine's Hospice for the loving care and compassion given to 
her.
