Raymond Joseph "Caillou" VanBuren Sr., 79, a native of Bourg and resident of 
Houma, died at 11:22 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2014. 

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at Dularge 
Community Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the 
church, 

with burial in Southdown Cemetery. 

He is survived by his sons, Raymond Joseph VanBuren Jr. (Darlene), Nelson D. 
VanBuren Sr. (Karen), Thomas Martin and Phillip Cleveland; daughters, Julia Ann 
VanBuren Cheavis (Jeffrey) and Jane Frances Cleveland; sisters, Lubirda 
VanBuren Myles and Geraldine VanBuren Theriot; brothers, Antione P. VanBuren 
Sr., Johnell VanBuren and Roland P. VanBuren Sr.; 14 grandchildren; and 19 
great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary S. VanBuren; parents, Izeal and 
Julia L. VanBuren; brother, James VanBuren; sisters, Viola V. Johnson, Julia V. 
Lagarde and Verlene VanBuren; maternal grandparents, Robert and Mary Dickerson 
Medus; and paternal grandparents, Charlie and Louvenia VanBuren. 

Jones Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
