Lanuel Joseph James Jr., 77, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of New 
Orleans, died at 7:24 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014. 

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at Jones Funeral 
Home in Houma. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral 
home, 

with burial in Southdown Cemetery. He is survived by his former wife, Rosetta 
Williams James; sons, Lanuel III (Dana) James, Ronald (Sharon) James, Elliot 
James, Rudolph (Brandy) James, and Darnell James; daughter, Carolyn Johnson; 
sisters, Louise (Frank) Parker, Gloria Miller, Inez James, Lillian James, and 
Shirley Watson; brother, Ben Robinson; eight grandchildren; and one great-
grandchild. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lanuel Sr. and Lillian Turner James; 
and sister, Lillie Mae Madison. 

Jones Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
