MELANCON, THOMAS "TOMMY"/"OTIS" 
(Died October 28, 2014)

Thomas “Tommy”/”Otis” Benton Melancon, 59, a native and resident of Thibodaux 
passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014. 

Visitation will be from 9 am until funeral time Monday, November 3, 2014 at St. 
Joseph Co-Cathedral. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am at the church 

with burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery. 

He is survived by his nephew, Brent J. Melancon; nieces, Jennifer M. Naquin and 
husband, Clint, Brandi M. Bernard and husband, Taylor, Crystal and Claire 
Melancon; grand-nieces, Jolie and Emmi Naquin; and sister-in-law, Kathleen H. 
Melancon. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Zenon J. “Moon” Melancon and Marie 
Stella “Myra” Webre Melancon; and brothers, Harold C. “Moon” Melancon and John 
P. “Pat” Melancon. 

Tommy worked many years farming sugar cane alongside his father and brother, 
Pat. He enjoyed his life at home where he spent most of his time listening to 
rock and roll music and watching classic movies. 

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to his family and friends 
as well as the ER staff at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center and Journey 
Hospice who provided compassion and support to Tommy and his family at the end 
of his life.
