Alton J. "Man" Theriot, 84, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of 
Houma, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014. 

Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Thursday at New Salem Baptist Church. A Mass of 
Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday at New Salem Baptist Church, 

with burial in Southdown Cemetery. 

He is survived by his sons, Frederick J. Theriot, of Houma; daughters, Judith 
Theriot-Verret (Alexander), of Gulfport, Mississippi, Sheryl Theriot, of Los 
Angeles, California; brother, Warren Theriot, of Bourg, Iowa; sister, Cleo 
Theriot, of Detriot, Michigan; 18 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Enis and Ruth Taplet Theriot; 
daughter, Shina Burks; brothers, Roosevelt Sr., Enis Jr., Arthur, Earl Sr., 
Austin Sr., and Newman Theriot Sr.; and sisters, Belle, Nelle and Ernie 
Theriot. 

Gertrude Geddes Willis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
