Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma, and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at New Life Fellowship Church. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in Holy Family Catholic Church Cemetery. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Joseph Ivy Solet; son, Joseph P. Solet Sr. and wife, Merita; daughters, Ediana S. Bihm and companion, Paul, Diane S. Bourg and husband, Thomas, and Dora S. Bourg and husband, Jack; brother, Joseph Verret; sisters, Hattie Verret and Dora Billiot; grandchildren, Candace S. Porche, Miranda S. Quickel and Joseph Solet Jr., Marchella V. Schoell, Shelly V. Domingue, Lesley V. Sanchez and Edwina B. Fitch, Thomas Bourg Jr., Cassandra B. Billiot, and Isaac Bourg, and Joseph Bourg and Kellie B. Garnett; and great-grandchildren, Gordon, Zaiah, Dakota and Baylee Porche, Joshua, Christian and Destiny Quickel, Charles Jr., Austin and Marcia Verdin, Gabrielle and Skyler Domingue, Paighton, Kaighen and Haighlen Sanchez, Kaira, Shayden and Alayshia Fitch, Laban, Carter and Halle Bourg, Chandler, Karsen, Rory and Hope Billiot, Parker and Philip Bourg, Brendon, Ty, Maya and Kyra Bourg, Seth Bourg, Jonah and Cain Collins, Amanda, Hugh and Joel Garnett. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lucille "Elizabeth" Lee Verret; brothers, Walter, Paul, Anthony, and John Isaac Verret; and sisters, Whitney and Victoria Verret; and son-in-law, Johnnie Bihm. Margaret was a member of Living Word Tabernacle Church. She was a loving wife for 63 years. She loved her husband, they were soul mates, always inseparable. She loved her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She was a passionate Christian who loved God and always went to church. She had a strong faith in prayer and prayed for everyone. When she was able, she loved to cook and would walk everyday. Collecting knick-knacks would put a smile on her face. She loved cats and French gospel songs. She wore only home made dresses made by her daughter Ediana. She will be greatly missed by family and all who knew her.
