He was a native of Montegut, LA and resident of Bourg, LA. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2014 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Monday, November 17, 2014 from 9:00am until service time at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 17, 2014 at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Church cemetery. He is survived by his, Spouse: Gail Stoufflet, Sons: Ernest J. Stoufflet III and wife Rachel R. Stoufflet,and Edward J. Cancienne and wife Lacinda W. Cancienne, Daughter: Sara S. Duthu and husband Gregory T. Duthu, Daughter in Law: Nicole Stoufflet, Brother: Gilbert P. Stoufflet and wife Judy H. Stoufflet, Sister: Sally B. Savoie and husband Eric J. Savoie, Grandchildren: Kaylin Stoufflet, Andie, Charley, Dalton, Cooper, and Cabot Cancienne, Mackenzie, Juliette, and Kyleigh Duthu, and a little baby Stoufflet on the way, Godchild: Dena Marie Stoufflet and Elizabeth Savoie Mitchell, Nieces and Nephews: Eric J. Savoie Jr., and Annette S. Walker. He was preceded in death by his, Parents: Ernest Joseph Stoufflet Jr. and Marjorie Dugas Stoufflet, Son: Samuel P. Stoufflet, Sister: Sally Ann Stoufflet Braud, and Godchild: Karl Sheplar. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He always made people smile, and he loved his wife of thirty-three years Gail, children and family; but most especially his grandchildren. Ernie's other passions were working on his pasture and raising his cattle and spending time with his beloved dog Sparky. He was a devout supporter of South Terrebonne High School. He was on the STHS Gator Club, which he served as president for several years and was an instrumental part of STHS Tail Gators ======================
