He was a native and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 from 9:00am to 12:30pm at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Liturgy of the Word will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 12:30pm at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Burial: St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. He was survived by his wife, Gail Badeaux Babin; daughters Heather Babin Marcel and husband Jeremy, Kelli Babin, and Jill Babin Lirette; grandchildren Lily Marcel, Ethan Marcel, Luke Bertrand, and Ellie Lirette; brother Leo Babin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Mae Frances Doiron Babin and Leo Babin; sister Patricia Babin Zeringue; and son in law Timothy Lirette. Worked mostly in Oil and Gas and then was inside sales for the Electrical Industry. Jerome was an avid sports fan. He followed LSU baseball and football and loved going to The Box and Tiger Stadium. He coached Babe Ruth baseball, and then Terrebonne Parish softball as his children got older. He then started umpiring for Terrebonne Parish Recreation and the High School Athletic Association. He loved it and was very much looking forward to this next season. One of the highlights of his life was when he had the opportunity to umpire the Cooperstown Dream Park Invitational in 2009. He was also a diehard Saints fan. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1317. He will be greatly missed by his family. ======================
