Ber, 76, a native of New Orleans and resident of Houma, passed away at 8:25 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2014. Visitation will be from 5-10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Monday, Dec. 29 at Falgout Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery II. She is survived by her son, Thomas "Tommy" Ber and friend, Cindy Lovergne; daughter, Toni Ann Ber and friend, Scotty LeBlanc; brothers, Claude Jr. "Mudd" and Herbert Bernard; sisters, Juanita B. and husband, Rudy Dupre, Claudia B. and husband, Tommy Guilliot, and Hope B. Ordoyne; and grandchildren, Dustin M., Bethany N., and Catherine L. Ber and Jessica M. LeBlanc. She was preceded in death by her husband , Elwood John Ber Jr.; parents, Claude Sr. and Lucy Thibodeaux Bernard; sister, Maybelle B. Rose; brothers-in-law; Raymond Ordoyne and Alex Rose; and sisters-in-law, Tina H. Ber and Gloria Bernard. Barbara was a 1956 graduate of Terrebonne High School. She was a member of Krewe of Hyacinthians, Terrebonne High Booster Club, Secretary of The Invitational Oilman's Golf Tournament and Houma Civitan Club. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Heritage Manor, Terrebonne General Medical Center especially 3 North and 4 North nurses, CNA's, respiratory therapists, and Haydel Hospice, especially Carol Haydel and Patti Vess.
