Born on October 18, 1935, he was an avid sports fan of the LSU Tigers, Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals. He was a carpenter by trade and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was also the Quartermaster for VFW Post 4245. Known for his wit, he enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, attending sporting events involving his grandchildren, doing carpentry work, and watching sports on TV. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Dolores Clement Gravois; his four children, Darla Hymel (Danny), Wanda Bolton (Will), Carl Gravois (Andrea), and Brent Gravois (Stacie); six grandchildren, Drake Gravois, Lance Hymel, Colby Bolton, Logan Gravois, Layne Hymel, and Demi Gravois; three siblings, Ann Granier, Virginia Laiche, and Allen Gravois. He is preceded in death by his parents, Effie Steib Gravois and Felix Joseph Gravois; five siblings, Mildred Webre, Lydia Labat, Raymond Gravois, Phillip Gravois, and Francis Gravois. Visitation will be observed at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Vacherie on December 6, 2014 from 8:00am until funeral mass at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. The family extends a special thanks to the doctors and staff of Thibodaux Regional Hospital and Cancer Center, and the office of Dr. Sarat Donepudi.
