Herbert J. "Poochie" Ledet, 80, passed away December 5, 2014, resident and 
native of Thibodaux, LA. Visitation will be Monday, December 8, 2014 from 
1:30PM until funeral time at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church. A Mass of 
Christian Burial will be at 2:30PM at the church, 

with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.  

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lois Gros Ledet; son, Perry Ledet; 
daughter, Debbie Ledet Kern and husband Roland; grandchildren, Michelle Giroir, 
Michael and Christopher Kern; great-grandchildren, Makayla Kern, Carsyn Giroir, 
Vayah Kern and Peighton Giroir.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Etienne and Celestine Ledet. 

Poochie had been manufacturing amphibious equipment since 1952. He could still 
weld and fit with the best of craftsman. With over 62 years of experience, he 
brought years of wisdom and insight to each piece of equipment. He enjoyed 
working and didn't want to retire, and was still working till his illness.

his illness.
