Robichaux, a native and resident of Raceland, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the age of 95. A visitation will be held at St. Mary's Nativity Church on Monday, December 29, 2014 from 8:00 am until 10:00 am with a Memorial Mass beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will follow St. Mary's Nativity Church cemetery. Denis is survived by his daughters, Regina and Holly Robichaux; brother, Albert Robichaux; sisters, Alice Borne and Marguerite Guidry. He is preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Lauve Robichaux; parents, Louis Robichaux and Clothilde Mayet Robichaux; brother, Abby Robichaux; sisters, Celina Theriot, Therese Sampey, Mary Jane Baudoin and Linda Babin. He attended Breaux Folse School and was a graduate of Raceland High School, class of 1936. Mr. Denis served in the U.S. Army during WWII where he was a member of the 39th Infantry 9th Division. During his service he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was the past commander of the VFW post 3665 in Raceland from 1946-1948 and an honorary member of the American Legion. He was the Raceland Volunteer Fire Dept President from 1968-1970 and retired as postmaster after 30 years with the Raceland branch.
