Visitation will be at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church on Saturday, December 6 from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am with burial immediately following in St. Joseph Cemetery. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 67 years, Enola Gros Waguespack: son Paul (Manette) Waguespack, and daughters Carol (Danny) Blanchard and Mary (George) Gaudin. Charles is also survived by five grandchildren: Karen Gaudin, Ann Blanchard Maxwell, Catherine (Chris) Jeanice, Christopher (Caroline) Blanchard, and Kelli G. (Brian) Priest, as well as three great grandchildren: Aidan McIlvaine, Anna Catherine Maxwell, and Brian Priest III. Three siblings: Rita W. Benoit, Blaise Waguespack, and Eloise W. Gros also survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amilcar and Rosema Waguespack, and sister Lilly Rose Gros. Charles was an Army veteran who served his country honorably in WWII and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was involved in many community and church projects and was especially honored to have served as the Commander of VFW Post 5097. Charles spent his entire life in the sugar cane industry and enjoyed traveling the world as part of his longtime service with Cameco Industries. His family offers special thanks to his care giver Hattie Bergeron and Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home for their loving care.
