Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2015/f1501.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Houston Anthony Gervais, Jr., born April 4, 1944, died peacefully at home Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, surrounded by his family. Visitation will be at St. Hilary of Poitiers Church in Raceland on Saturday, Jan. 24th from 9am to 11am. Immediately afterward, the Rev. Benny Rebosura will celebrate Mass followed by interment at St. Hilary of Poitiers Church masoleum. A native and resident of Raceland, he is survived by his superfragilisticexpialidocious, caring and compassionate wife of 19 years, Trudy S. Gervais; six children, Monique Gervais Sapia and husband Jeffrey Sapia, Nicole Gervais Becnel and husband Allen Becnel, Jr., Andre' Gervais Gros and husband Roy Gros, Hollie Louque Comardelle and husband Willie Comardelle, Scott Louque and Laura Melton, and Jamie Louque; brother Tracy Gervais; and twelve grandchildren whom he adored, Jeremy and Jared Sapia; Christopher, Dustin and Trey Becnel; Mallory, Brendon, Triston and Madison Gros; and Jorgia, Kollen and Peydon Comardelle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Houston Gervais, Sr. and Clothilde Martinez Gervais, and four brothers, Harry, Marvin, Kenneth, and Bryan Gervais. He received his B.S. in Agriculture from Nicholls State College in 1968. After 17 years at Bel Chemical as an agricultural chemical sales representative, he went on to fulfill his dream of managing farm operations at Laurel Valley Plantation in Thibodaux, retiring after 29 years. He served on numerous boards including Nicholls Ag Alumni, Lafourche Parish Farm Bureau, and the Lafourche Parish Cattlemen's Association. He earned Master Cattleman's status in 2005. An avid outdoorsman, he took great pride in sharing his love of agriculture, hunting and fishing and his Cajun heritage with all those he encountered. His loved ones will greatly miss his humor, wisdom, and good cooking. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the family or directly to the Lafourche Parish Cattlemen's Association, 115 Texas St., Raceland, LA 70394, to fund a scholarship. ======================
