He was a native of Houma, LA and resident of Gonzales, LA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc., and on Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 9:00AM until service time at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary with burial in Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, April Ann Hebert Kurtz; sons, Kenrick Kurtz, Jr. and Steven Talbot; mother, Marian Anna Picou Kurtz; brother, Knute Kurtz and wife Joyce; sisters, Kimmie Hall, Agnes Bearden, and Anna Hudson and husband Mike; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Paul Kurtz; brother, Kerwin Kurtz; brother-in-law, Clyde Hall; grandparents, Harold V. and Agnes Levron Kurtz, and Clay and Anna Picou. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a devoted fan of the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Bella.
