Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral, with burial in Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery She is survived by her, son, Maurice "M.J." Plaisance and wife, Dawn Jackson; daughters, Dr. Judy M. Plaisance, Lozia Plaisance Richard, Vanessa Plaisance Baudoin and husband, Ronald, and Mildred Plaisance Descant and husband, Wayne; brother, Jeffery Boudreaux and wife, Lorraine; brother-in-law, Joseph Bergeron Jr.; grandchildren, Rachel Trosclair, Joshua Richard, Shara Baudoin, Derrick Baudoin, Michelle Peek, Christopher Descant, Michael Plaisance and Dominic Plaisance; and six great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Norman Antoine Plaisance; parents, Jefferson and Matilda Naquin Boudreaux; brother, Rogers Boudreaux; sisters, Isabelle "Bell" Picou and husband, Bruce, Lorraine Campbell and husband, Huey "Tucker", and Eula Bergeron; and grandson, Evan Troy Plaisance. Mildred was a parishioner and Eucharistic Minister of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. She was a member of the Legion of Mary, Ladies Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America Court Cardinal Gibbons No. 177, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Bayou Region Chapter of Affiliated Blind of Louisiana, Red Hat Association, and Young at Heart. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name made to: Covenant House of New Orleans, P.O. Box 96708, Washington, DC 20090-6708, would be gratefully appreciated.
