Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2015/f1501.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Dorris Roux Richard, 90, a native of Lockport and life-long resident of Thibodaux, died Jan. 8, 2015, after a nine year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday, Jan. 13, at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. She is survived by her daughters, Veronica "Ronnie" Caillouet, Paulette "Polly" Rodrigue and husband, Jimmy, and Marcelle "Marcy" Webre and husband, Mark; sons, Alfred "Al" Richard, Jerome "Dee" Richard and wife, Connie, and James "Jim" Richard; adored grandchildren , Marc Caillouet, and wife, Jill, Jarod Richard and wife, Jen, Jennifer Richardel and husband, Danny, Amy Bonneval and husband, Patrick, Jacob Richard, Alex Richard, Rebecca Davis and husband, Brian, Ryan Webre and wife, Christie, Lauren Neal and Victoria Richard; cherished great-grandchildren, Max, Rae, Emmie, Kate, Anna, Charles, Luke, Georgia, Allie, Adele, Tramel, Grant, Emma, Charles David and Grace. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, and many friends, especially Noby Ordogne, whom she loved like a son. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Richard; son, Gregory A. Richard; nephew, Peter Ducos; parents, Venance and Vivian Roux; sisters, Jeanne Roux Tipton, Gladys Roux Webre and Joyce Roux Jones. Dorris was a kind, loving and giving person. She was full of life and laughter. She had many crosses to bear in her life, but always smiled, held her head high and accepted them with peace and grace. She loved being with family and friends. She was a graduate of LSU, and an avid LSU sports fan. She was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Joseph Co-Cathedral. She was a retired educator of 42 years. In later years, she suffered with dementia, but still managed to smile. She was loved by her family and friends and will be deeply missed. The family is grateful to the staff of Audubon Health and Rehab for the time, concern and excellent care given to her. Sincere thanks goes to St. Catherine's Hospice.
