A Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon Wednesday at the church, with burial in St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church cemetery in Raceland. He is survived by his wife, Rita Theriot Bourgeois; daughters, Carolyn Bourgeois Robichaux and husband, Felton, and Deanne Theriot Bourgeois; daughter-in-law, Ann Tate Bourgeois; grandchildren, Tessa and Scott Robichaux, Christian Oliver, and Toni Leoni; and great-grandchildren, Amanda and Donavon Allemand, Jordan and Robyn Robichaux, Jack, Ethan, and Greta Leoni, and Ting Oliver. He was preceded in death by his son, Milton D. Bourgeois Jr.; parents, Joseph and Cordelia Cheramie Bourgeois; brothers, Oral, Oakland and Alvin Bourgeois; and sisters, Bernice Babin, Doris B. Theriot and Catherine Bourgeois. Milton, a World War II veteran, was the recipient of many medals and awards. Though he was seriously injured in battle, he returned home to his wife and daughter. Milton became a banker at Terrebonne Bank for several decades and retired as vice-president. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW. He took pride in his loving family, his yard and garden, and especially Rita's roses. Milton and Rita were wonderful caregivers who took in other family members. For the last 11 years, he took special care of Rita. Milton and Rita celebrated their 74th anniversary on Feb. 12, 2015, making them the longest married couple in St. Mary's Nativity Church parish. Their lives drastically changed after the death of their son, Milton Jr. Milton Sr. will be dearly missed by all. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be made to Wounded War Heroes at www.wwhfr.com or to local chapters of the American Legion or VFW. Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of arrangements. ======================
