James Joseph Prosperie, 76, a native and resident of Houma, died Monday, Feb. 
23, 2015. 

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Friday, Feb. 27, at Holy 
Rosary Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, 
at the church, 

with burial in Holy Rosary Catholic Church cemetery. 

He is survived by his daughters, Veronica Prosper and Heddy Guidry; son, Joe 
Prosperie; brother, Donald Prosperie; sisters, Linda Prosperie Bergeron, 
Catherine Prosperie Hornsby, Kathleen Theriot and Patrica Prosperie Pellegrin; 
grandchildren, Angie Garza, J.J. Guidry, Jessica Hays, Lucius Prosperie, David 
Boleyn II, Austin Prosperie and Josie Prosperie; and nine great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Thersa Beniot Prosperie; 
grandchild, Natashia Lynn Guidry; great-grandchild, Aaliyah Natalia Boleyn; 
father, James Dominic Prosperie; and mother. Vergie Ellen Hutchinson Prosperie. 

Samart Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
