Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 from 6:00PM until 9:00PM at Chauvin Funeral Home. Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 9:00 AM until Service time at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. Burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. He is survived by his Companion, Cindy Dolan Parfait, two daughters, Patricia K. Moore and husband Craig of Schriever, LA; Natalie Tassin and husband Keith Jr of Gray, LA; two sons, Rodney L. Robert of Houston, TX, Stephen M. Robert and wife Kristi Seely of Houma, LA; two sisters, Sherry Bailey and husband Edgar of Hammond, Margaret Stein and husband Joe of Madisonville, LA; one sister-in-law, Florence Robert of TN; five grandchildren, Lindsey Collins Davis and husband Brody of Raceland, LA, Cooper M. Robert, Seth M. Moore, Carter M. Robert and Drake A. Tassin and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Wife of 41 years, Nell Theresa Picou Robert; brother, Valery Robert Jr; his parents, Odette Cire Robert and Valery Anthony Robert, Sr; one nephew, Jimmy Robert. Rodney was a graduate of Covington High School, class of 1959; He served his country, achieving the rank of staff sergeant as an MP in the United States Air Force; He worked at Halliburton before graduating from the Realtors Institute of Louisiana in 1978; after working in a sales capacity for LaRussa,Giglio and Four Star Real Estate, he started his own Real Estate Appraisal Service of more than 30 years, before retiring in 2011; he was a charter member of the Krewe of Hercules and Selucrey. Whether he was playing cards, the slots, or enjoying time spent on a Caribbean Cruise, his good natured sense of humor and great smile were always found to be warm and engaging. Known as an avid outdoorsman, he gained recognition as a terrific angler. So well respected by his peers for his dedication and leadership, he was elected officer in various capacities of local bass fishing clubs. i.e. the Terrebonne Bassmasters and Terrebonne Sportsman’s League. His many accomplishments aside, he lived his life dedicated to his loved ones. In his later years, he could mostly be found on Eagle Lake (the pond) sharing quality time with his family.
