Hosey "Duck" Shelby Sr., 104, a native and resident of Raceland, died Saturday, 
Feb. 7, 2015. 

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Friday, Feb. 13, at Third 
Zion Baptist Church in Raceland. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at 
the church, 

with burial in Third Zion Baptist Church cemetery in Raceland. 

He is survived by his sons, Nolan Shelby, Joseph Shelby and Tony Shelby and 
wife, Kendra; stepson, Craig Stratton; daughters, Ebvalina Shelby and Beatrice 
Shelby Williams and husband, Alton; 26 grandchildren; and 26 great-
grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria S. Shelby; parents, Ezekiel and 
Lucy Shelby; sons, Eugene Shelby Sr., Hosey Shelby Jr. and Gilbert Stratton; 
brother, Horrace Shelby; sisters, Gustasvin Shelby and Lessie Jackson; and his 
grandparents. 

Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
