A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 29, at the Golden Meadow Park Pavilion. He is survived by his sons, Rickey J. Cheramie and wife, Lacie, Nicholas Cheramie and wife, Ashley, and Mark Cheramie and fianceé, Hannah; grandchildren, Mayce Thibodeaux, Brady Collins, Nicky Cheramie, Chloé Cheramie, Kaden Cheramie, Kasen Cheramie and Avary Cheramie; brother, Louis Cheramie; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton and Mildred Cheramie; sister, Joanne Cheramie; granddaughter, Kayle Cheramie; and niece, Nicole G. Landry. Rickey was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a family man who had a passion to keep the Cajun heritage ongoing, if it was as small as speaking Cajun French to other people or his role in helping prevent coastal erosion. Rickey was the President of the South Lafourche Beachfront Commission. He had three U.S. patents, one of which was to help prevent coastal erosion and was awarded a federal grant to help demonstrate his patents. He will be missed by all who knew him. Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano is in charge of arrangements. ======================
