Herbert James Jr., 63, a native of St. Charles Parish and resident of Gray, died at 12:10 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2015. 

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday, March 17, at New Magnolia Baptist Church in Schriever. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church with 

burial in Halfway Cemetery. 

He is survived by his former wife, Barbara Walker James; son, Herbert James III; daughter, Catina James Neylon (Jerry); sister, Patricia James; and one grandson. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Sr. and Albertha Cheatham James; one granddaughter; and sisters, Betty James and Germaine Noah. 

Jones Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
