Elouise Garner Joseph, 82, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Houma, 
died at 1:45 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2015. 

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Monday, March 23, at Dularge 
Community Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the 
church, 

with burial in Southdown Cemetery. 

She is survived by her sons, John W. Yerks Jr., Andrew Yerks, Charles E. Yerks 
and Jimmy Joseph; daughter, Audrey Y Chavis (Norman); sisters, Beaulah Henry, 
Olivia Smith, Chester Mary Crockette, Margarette Mitchell and Marian Haynes; 
brothers, Andrew Garner Jr. and Sidney Smith; caretaker, Lillian "Ann" Lyons; 
seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her former husbands, James Joseph and John W. 
Yerks Sr.; parents, Andrew Garner Sr. and Beulah Calloway Joseph; maternal 
grandparents, George Sr. and Olivia Hawkins Calloway; paternal grandparents, 
James and Josephine Couteaux Garner; sisters, Gustavia Porche and Onedia 
Celestine; and brother, Richard Garner Sr. 

Jones Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
