Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2015/f1503.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Carolyn Marie Jones Moore, 65, a native of Lafourche Parish and resident of Thibodaux, died at 10:35 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 27, at Magnolia United Methodist Church at 104 Johnson Ridge Lane and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday, March 28, at Moses Baptist Church at 1032 Canal Blvd. in Thibodaux. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in Blue Lily Cemetery. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Thomas Aaron Moore; daughter, Raenice Janelle Moore; mother, Esther Redmond Stewart; sisters, Doris Jones Price (John), Lucinda Redmond Williams, Claudette Jones, Sandra Bolding McMiller (Bobby), Antoinette Cormier (Lionel), Claudia Jones Thompson (Frankie), Susie Foucher (George Jr.), Colette Stewart Smith, Joyce Chandler (Leon Jr.) and Loyce Gunn (Bruce); brothers, Elder Davis Stewart Jr. (Beverly), Curtis Stewart and Robert Stewart (Kally); goddaughter, Iesha Johnson Cooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Claude Jones; stepfather, Davis Stewart Sr.; and sister, Lisa Jones. Carolyn was the first African-American student to graduate from Terrebonne High School in 1967. She attended Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1975, Master's of Education degree plus 30 graduate hours in 1978. She was employed by the Terrebonne Parish School Board for more than 36 years, providing excellent service to the public school system as a educator at the Schriever Elementary School.
