Rivet, 73, a native of Gheens and resident of Cut Off passed away March 18, 2015. Visitation will take place on March 23, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off, LA from 11:00am till service time. Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 pm with burial following in Hoy Savior Cemetery in Lockport. Mr. Alton is survived by his wife of 49 years Diana Arceneaux Rivet, daughter Inga R. Bruce and husband Chad, son Taft A. Rivet, grandchildren Joshua Bruce, Justin Bruce, Decey Paige Rivet, Lelan Rivet, great grandchildren Ja'Kai Jackson-Bruce, brother C.J. Rivet, and sisters Clarice Howard and Andy Verdin. Mr. Rivet was preceded in death by his parents Alcide and Nita O. Rivet, brothers Raymond Rivet and Ethelen "T-Bay" Rivet and sister Mary Degeyter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a member of the Holy Name Society, Sacred Heart Choir and the American Legion Post 315.
