Barbara Smith, 66. A native of Atmore, AL and a resident of Houma, LA died 
March 17, 2015 at Ochsner Foundation Hospital at 8:50a.m. in New Orleans, LA.

A Celebration of life for her will be held at New Rising Sun Baptist Church 230 
St. Charles St., Houma, LA on Saturday, March 28, 2015. Visitation from 
10:00a.m. until 1:45p.m. Funeral services is scheduled for 2:00p.m. 

with burial at Emmanuel Cemetery.

She leaves to forever cherish her memories her husband, Edward J. Smith. Two 
sons, Shawn Scott and Daveyon (Christina)Smith and daughters, Kendra 
(Clifford)Floyd and Ebonie Smith. One brother, Andre McGowan and sisters, 
Dorothy Baylor, Shirley McGowan both of Los Angles, CA, Beverly McGowan and six 
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Fannie McGowan. Three 
brothers, Frank Jr., Gary,Rene McGowan and sisters, Annette and Erestine 
McGowan. She was a member of Rock of Ages Baptist Church and a Dietary Tech for 
Dioceses of Terrebonne.
