Preston Joseph Tivet, 70, a native and resident of Houma, died at 12:08 a.m. 
Monday, March 23, 2015. 

His body was donated to LSUHSC and the family will have a memorial service at a 
later date. 

He is survived by his former wife, Miriam Remont Tivet; stepchildren, Kimila 
Niedbalski (Edmund), of Baton Rouge, Angela Daughdrill (Glynn), of Mandeville, 
Bambi (Mark) Schweer, of Franklin, Tennessee, and Kevin Rembert, of New 
Orleans; and step-grandchildren, Ryan Brown, Sean Brown, Kathleen Niedbalski, 
Victoria Schweer and Christian Schweer. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Duhon Tivet; parents, Ivy 
Joseph Tivet and Audrey Matherne Tivet; brother, Joseph Daniel "Pookie" Tivet; 
and sister, Sandra Tivet Levron. 

Preston was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved to dance and watch and 
attend LSU football games. 

The family wishes to thank the staff at Maison de Ville Nursing Home.
